Mini Me Hina Doll is a project that combines the Japanese tradition of Hina dolls—ornamental dolls that families display in their homes for Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival) to pray for the health, safety, and growth of their daughters—with the new value of dressing the dolls in layers of memories. The concept of imbuing a single doll with a child’s growth and their family’s memories was rated highly and the project was awarded the Lotus Roots, an award unique to ADFEST that is given to works that embody local values.
