La FonteItaly Taste on Your Soap Opera

Hakuhodo International Indonesia / i-dac Indonesia

Background

La Fonte was on a mission to spotlight its irresistibly authentic Italian taste, a flavor so bold that it turns every bite into a dramatic moment.

To break through ad fatigue and capture the short attention spans of young Indonesians on mobile streaming platforms, La Fonte reimagined traditional advertising by “hijacking” the user’s natural viewing journey on WeTV. The creative strategy centered on transforming a trailer for the hit Indonesian WeTV soap opera Jangan Salahkan Aku Selingkuh (Don’t Blame Me for Cheating) into a singular, humorously Italian-dubbed native video.

Execution

The campaign centered around an innovative video format that seamlessly integrated the Italian-dubbed trailer into the user’s natural viewing journey. By leveraging WeTV’s native video capabilities alongside the popular content, the ad avoided feeling intrusive and appeared as a natural yet surprising element of content discovery. This unexpected Italian dubbing successfully triggered viewer curiosity and provided an immersive brand touchpoint that subtly reinforced La Fonte’s Italian heritage and authenticity, thereby significantly elevating brand recall and affinity.

Result

The strategic approach delivered outstanding performance metrics, achieving a highly efficient cost per completed view of just USD 0.0070, significantly surpassing industry benchmarks. The creative execution resonated strongly with the targeted young adult demographic, yielding a completion rate 1.28 times higher than the teaser average. Ultimately, by innovatively inserting the brand narrative into content the audience genuinely cared about, La Fonte effectively overcame audience ad fatigue and established its campaign as a benchmark for impactful, high-engagement mobile advertising.
