Whether you have ever heard of Michael Jordan or not, you cannot deny one of his best quotes: “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” When we get the chance to strike out on our own here at Hakuhodo Hong Kong, we grab it together with all our might and never settle in our comfort zone. Whether a phone greeting, a cup of tea with guests or a pleasant presentation, we work as a team with trust. Everyone in the process is important. What a single man can do well, a team can make great. Even an astonishing piece of art may sit in a dark, dusty room forever if no one displays it in a gallery, or if the gallery doesn’t find a buyer, or if there is no connoisseur to appreciate the fineness of the work. Hakuhodo Hong Kong may not have all hard skill resources of the big names in town, but we have the whole family always at our back. Most importantly, we will never stop honing our unbeatable soft skills, which win our reputation across the industry.
Being in advertising for almost 20 years—from copywriter to strategic planner to client service; from the US to Hong Kong to Tokyo and back to Hong Kong; through the all ups and downs over the years—has been just fascinating. Every failure makes me tougher, more ambitious and younger at heart. With this passion, everyone at Hakuhodo HK works around the clock to be a champion, taking to heart Serena Williams’ famous words: “A champion is defined not by their wins but by how they can recover when they fall.”
