On the fascination of problem-solving for creative minds:
As a person in the creative field, I am intrigued by many things. New things I see or read on a daily basis are all sources of inspiration. A creative mind must be constantly fed.
Lately, I find myself marveling at humanity’s capacity to solve problems. Take for example the COVID-19 vaccines. The mRNA technology that was meant to solve something else was instead applied to stop the global health crisis. Isn’t it amazing how the human mind works and how the universe helps clear the path when an idea’s time has finally come?
In advertising, to be real, we are not solving world-level problems. What we do is very small in the grand scheme of things. What I find fascinating is the chance to solve problems in ways that have never been done before. We may not be saving the world, but by putting a smile on someone’s face with a line that we concocted, or brightening someone’s day with content we created, or even casting a light on subjects considered taboo, so they can be discussed without prejudice—this is what inspires and drives me about the work. Problem-solving and the chance to fight for ideas that will hopefully make an impact, big or small.
